"THE INDEPENDENCE STAR" - THE MONUMENT OF AZERBAIJAN INDEPENDENCE IN BAKU (2010)

Annotation :
the basis
of
the composition
came from the symbol
of the Republic of
Azerbaijan.
The eight-pointed
star,
symbolizing the eight
branches of
the Turkic people,
turned
into a dynamic
spatial composition,
with its rays,
aspiring
stairs
up
to the sky -
a symbol of freedom.
Stairs
leading to
upper levels
of the museum
and observation deck
with a breathtaking
panorama
of Baku.
In addition to the
stairs, all levels
of the museum,
observation deck,
the panoramic restaurant
entrance
and
joined
the central
elevator.
On the top of the structure there is a light-installation
"The Land
of Light."
Media facades
technologies allow to be
the culmination of a
night
panorama
of the city.
Along with these
dominating
as the
Television Tower
and
the memorial complex "Alley
of Shehids", this
structure will complete the
harmonious
ensemble
of symbolic
structures
in the panorama of
Baku.
